Surftech and Covewater invite you to a Pre Jay Race Happy Hour with Candice Appleby and Anthony Vela
Thursday, June 23rd
6:00 – 7:00 PM at Covewater Paddle Surf
Join 3-time Battle of the Paddle winner and SUP’s female ambassador Candice Appleby, and last year’s Jay race winner Anthony Vela, for appetizers and paddling discussion this Thursday before the 10th Annual Surftech Jay Moriarity Memorial Paddleboard Race.

Candice will talk about her third consecutive Battle of the Paddle victory, and we’ll ask Anthony what winning last year’s Jay Race meant to him. Candice’s unprecedented dominance in stand up paddling instantly puts her among the favorites in this year’s women’s SUP field (that is if she chooses to race in the SUp division. Candice has been winning traditional paddleboard race in So Cal all month!).
Anthony, a lifeguard and highly accomplished waterman, could lead the pack in either prone paddling or stand up paddling – the only question is, which will he choose for this year’s race?
Pupus from Pono Hawaiian Grill and beverages will be served. No cost, and no rsvp necessary.
